Picture of the Week #72 - Kos Minar, Grand Trunk Road (NH1), Panipat (16th Cent AD)

Kos Minar's (Mile Stones) like these were laid down by Sher Shah Suri (in the 16th Cent) on the 2500 km long Grand Trunk Road which ran between Chittagong and Kabul. The Grand Trunk Road is one of the longest and oldest roads in Asia.
